Capabilities
Capabilities (in German Fähigkeiten) are what Labtagon AI OS does for the chat and for agents besides the tools of your profile. You do not switch them on in the chat: the model uses one when your question needs it, for example a web search when you ask about today’s news.
What there is

| Search the web | Searches the web and reads what it finds. The sources show as numbered chips under the answer. |
| Generate pictures | Makes pictures from a description; they become your files. Prompt used shows what you asked and how it was rewritten. |
| Edit pictures | Changes a picture, keeping the original. |
| Read documents | Reads your PDFs, Office files and scans as text, tables as tables. |
| Read aloud | Reads a text aloud as audio you can play. |
| Transcribe | Turns a recording of yours into text. |
| Run code | Runs Python, JavaScript and TypeScript in a sandbox of the conversation. The chat shows the code, its output and its errors. |
| Read past sessions | Looks up your earlier conversations and sessions, and reads them. |
| Memory | Keeps what matters from your conversations and recalls it later. See Your memory. |
Who decides
Section titled “Who decides”Your organisation decides which capabilities it offers, to whom, and with which limits. What it does not give you, the model is not offered at all. When a limit is reached, for example a number of pictures a day, the step shows Not now and says when it opens again; it is not an error.
Code you run in the sandbox reaches the internet only as your organisation allows. By default it reaches the package indexes, and other websites only once you approve them for the conversation; never your company’s own network.
Switching one off for yourself
Section titled “Switching one off for yourself”In your Chat profile you can switch off a capability you do not want the chat to use:
- Click Tools, skills and clients at the foot of the sidebar and open the profile Chat.
- Open the tab Capabilities.
- Switch off what the chat should not use here. Required by … marks a capability your organisation requires; you cannot switch that off.
